    Why not get a solar charger for your fence then mm you won't need electric. A lot of the utubers use solar chargers

      I’ve got two solar chargers they just don’t work well when you ground is so dry. You need moist ground for the grounding rods

    Try putting salt in that cup of water, the salt will greatly increase conductivity but depending on what that rod is mad of it will shorten it's life span. another benefit of the salt if you use enough the grass won't grow well if at all.

    Get a foot long drill bit for your drill and make hole first…you will get posts in and it’s easier to pound… it’s so sad cry baby died… I know what she meant to you… we all loved her dearly…I hope her last baby is ok… You cannot do any more than you are doing…can’t hear the wind Mike… I hope the rest of the goats are ok… if the had a nasty gash yes go to vet…things like that but to take them to vet over worms is pointless… sad thing is you don’t realise ther sick as they hide it… bit like chickens do…but then it’s to late…

    Double spikes: I thought both spikes went parallel with the fence, not perpendicular. Maybe pound on the piece between the two instead of the top of the post.

    Farming is not easy. Loss is inevitable. You do your very best and know GOD will be with you. Sounds like you did everything right to keep them healthy. I am not surprised, you did all that you could. You take great care of them all the time. Oh, a ground rod date with a meal! I would be happy with that too. Tonya, that would hurt. Glad it is healing. But I know ouch when I see one, and that was a big ouch!

  • @peggygoad517

    Why do the grounding rods need to be so deep?

    • @FowlerFamilyFarm
      @FowlerFamilyFarm 2 дні тому

      The deeper it is the better chance the ground is moist and get less resistance for grounding

    I have a young cousin, well these days probably well into 30s, who suffered some fever in here early years. From recollection near 3 to 4 yrs old. That resulted in losing all body hair, nothing , nill. No eye lashes brows, arms body legs. As a result she was a master of makup, a large selection of wigs, that were even nearly free cost on medical support in Germany. All the makeup, wigs and such were very much the envy of school friends, who under Germany school rules were forbidden makeup and wigs. She on the other hand could wear one wig going to school in the morning and change for sport, or lunch and finally go home yet another hairdo. I happened to visit at a time of a big birthday do by many relatives while on work in Germany . They pivked me up for going to that party from my closets direct relative my fathers sister's home. My cousin loved to practice her English while we drove some distance. I failed to realise the beautify young lady in the backbseat of the car with her mother. Makeup, false eyelashes, flowing brown to reddish hair. It was only atvthe party when she appeared in curled darker brown hair, that I suddenly realised that her condition was no natural hairs. Such perfection in preparing her appearance that you really had no clue to her health problem. In many ways, she was a master of her condition and did not bother her in anyway advantage of in effect growing up and never knowing other than that way. Able to enhance her beauty effortlessly, and flexibly to mood activity andvseason_weather, envy of many. I think at that time she over wigs, covering styles, length and colour range.

    That's farm life. Animals and plants die. People need to understand, there is a difference between pets and livestock. You do not take livestock to the vet for every little sniffle or booboo. When we had horses we kept a supply of penicillen, Ivermectin and Quick Clot on hand to handle it ourselves. Maybe try hammering on the bottom that they think will work by stepping on instead of the top.

    😢😢 Sorry about Cry Baby I think she was one of your originals? Have you tried using a cordless drill with eithor a fat bit or maybe a small auger to drill a better fence post hole for both spikes? Not too big because of course that would make the post loose & leaning. Just a bit smaller than your spike maybe? I've seen a couple homesteads do that when they had a major drought & cement like dirt. Of course this was when they had to move the fence the most & most often because the animals or chickens were eating the grass almost to just dirt & nothing was hardly growing at all. Grass crunching as they walked as if it was cut hay.
